Hourglass — Privacy Policy

Hourglass is a visual sand timer made by Alpha Loop. It is built to know as little about you as possible.

1. No account

There is no sign-up or login. We never ask for your name, email address, or contact details.

2. Data stored on your device

Presets, custom timers, and settings (sound, vibration, keep-screen-on, digit display, sand color) are stored only on your device using local app storage. They are not uploaded anywhere. Uninstalling the app deletes them.

3. Data sent by third-party SDKs

The app contains no advertising SDK and shows no ads. It uses two service SDKs:

  • Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics (Google) — anonymous usage events (`app_open`, `timer_start` with preset and duration, `timer_complete`, `paywall_view`, `purchase_success`) and crash reports. These include a device identifier, device model, OS version, and app version. They never include your presets or settings. See https://policies.google.com/privacy.
  • RevenueCat — processes the one-time Pro purchase made through Google Play. RevenueCat receives the purchase receipt and an anonymous app user ID so that Pro can be restored on reinstall. See https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.

    • 4. Permissions

  • Notifications — only to alert you when a timer finishes while the screen is off. Notifications are scheduled locally; no push server is involved.
  • Vibration and keep screen on — used only while a timer is running, according to your settings.

    • No access to location, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera.

    5. Children

    The app is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone.

    6. Deletion

    Delete local data by uninstalling the app. To request deletion of analytics or purchase records held by the SDK providers above, email privacy@alphaloop.dev.
